What Doesn’t Change

What doesn’t change, except change itself, is the regular search for what doesn’t change.

That we are, that we live, doesn’t change until it does, which doesn’t change that we were, or that still they are.

That it has been done, that it has been written, that at that time it was, doesn’t change.

The truth of it doesn’t change, only its versions and inventions.

Unending movement… doesn’t change… so far that we know.

Freedom and liberty, whether synonymously construed, or distinguished as the latter being the former’s responsible articulation, or separated by whatever your metaphysical sensibilities and frames of reference, these do not change, in their primitive and natural perceptions, or in the perpetual motions in defense of, and offense to, their principled and infinite illustrations, by individual human beings.

Nothing then is unchangeable but the inherent and unalienable rights of man.

 ~Thomas Jefferson to J. Cartwright, 1824.

That
there exists good and evil, doesn’t change.

Finally, what doesn’t change, is the certainty that most people who happen across this article will never make it to this line.

Cower So, My Countrymen

While ignorance is the fancy of tyrants and masters, greater is their devotion to the cowardice of dependence. This they breathe. @

Cowardice cedes liberty for perceived comfort; it fears the labor of liberty, and blindly embraces the haven of despotism. @

Cower so, my countrymen; bathe yourself in the promise of your master, then wallow in the mire of contempt for your brother. @

Randoms: Reality of Rehabilitated Reason, Authority of Doubt

That which is beyond human reason is reason enough to… @

Doubt is the first impression of truth. @

Greatness rests in the aftermath of doing something at all. @

Reality finally teaches you that you are. @

The last thing I do is unlikely to be the thing I want to be the last thing I do. @

Reason, this was the victim, this action, a symptom. @

Time and again, we people delegate authority to our representatives, then must exercise our authority to protect ourselves from them. @

An oath, a contract, confirms honor’s will, or exposes honor’s want. @

We have so deliberated and rehabilitated the human design that it ceases its own consent to be. @

We are so drowned in policy and the politic that we cannot surface for a single breath of freedom. @

Some Common Sense Ideas for Fixing the America that Shouldn’t be Broke

Got sparked a little while ago on the subject of solutions to America’s problems, you know, instead of just complaining about them, and jotted down these ideas off the top of my head. Some I’ve heard, can’t say where, some I don’t recall hearing, but they may be out there.

You might guess that I’m of the opinion that government largesse and intrusion and corruption is much of the problem, and that’d make you sharp as a tack. If you are new to this sort of thing, consider that everything government has, it first took from the people, or has yet to take from the people. Also note that gov’t IS necessary, but only to the extent summarized in the Declaration, and spelled out in the Constitution. We had a deal.

Anyway, here they are, from a common sense, unedumacated perspective:
updated: 2012.05.11 07:00pm est

  1. How about a 10% flat tax, everybody pays regardless of station? 10%’s good enough for God, it oughta be good enough for gov’t. @
  2. How about a gov’t budget that only spends last year’s receipts? @
  3. How about privatizing every entitlement program? All voluntary! Charity is charity, gov’t is gov’t. See? @
  4. How about quantitative legislation? That is, law specifically measured against loss of liberty and property. @
  5. How about a per capita regulatory limit? Want to make a new law, repeal an old one. @
  6. How about a moratorium on new law, contingent on the reduction of current law by, say, 25%? @
  7. How about a per capita limit on the number of gov’t bureaucrats? @
  8. How about a sunset provision on every law and regulation? Mandated revisits. @
  9. How about every legislation be required in its text to explain its Constitutionality? @
  10. How about voter registration requirements that equal drivers license requirements? Prove identity, take a test. @
  11. How about mandatory recall/impeachment/firing of every civil servant who works against the Constitution, which they vow to protect? @
  12. How about we ban all favoritism by gov’t, whether it be race, gender, business, religion, sexual deviance, or whatever? Equality in law. @
  13. How about we kill those who are trying to kill us? Period. Let the military do its job. @
  14. How about we abolish some  Executive Departments, take your pick, like ED HHS HUD and all unaccountable Czars h/t @blove65
  15. How ‘bout we ban lawyers from making laws? @

Randoms: Temporary Rule, the Glutton Tyranny, Lonely Honor

They either know it’s over for them, or they know it’s over for all of us… Democrat growing disregard for people, liberty & property. @

The birthright of your countrymen, this haven for liberty, will suffer its trespass no more. @

Your attempt to take this nature from men, to diminish their freedom, defines your cruel heart. @

If you be of the mind that you may crush the spirit of liberty in men, then you are a fool, for as it may sleep, it is never dead. @

If I seek to be honored, then I know it not, for honor, in truth, is a lonely virtue. @

If you wish to be ruled over, then expect to be overruled, as the voice of your countrymen will remind you of liberty. @

“If I wanted America to fail”

  • I’d say her Constitution sucks, then swear an oath to defend it, so that I could have the power to violate it. @
  • I’d simply redefine it. @
  • I’d rule over it. @

The “tolerant” politician is always the one trying to change and control people who he can’t tolerate. @

Questions for every political candidate: “What is Liberty?” & “What are the greatest threats to our Liberty… in order?” @

I was gonna say “Looking good!” but having no memory of your look from our last meeting, I could say “Looking awful!” with equal integrity. @

On a scale of one-to-tyranny, we were once the only one. @

If a purist is a constitutional traditionalist, and socialism is the new norm, then call me a radical purist. @

Return of the American Identity

The American Identity has been taken from her people, gradually, methodically, and with forethought and malice.

The American Identity has been whittled over successive generations, so as to finish it, and remake it.

In the face of unbelievable American success, indigenous foreigners have undone it, in the name of what.

There can be no other cause for the dire state of our union, except that we the people have allowed for our fundamental redefining.

For if government were representative of a people who knew their character, then government would never have done such harm.

Being a nation of, by, and for the people, logic demands that the people know what they are of, by, and for. Hence, the American Identity.

So if we are to be saved from mistaken identity, then we must return to the American Identity, else we be american in name only. Simple?
